Seattle Shuttle providing safe transportation in rainy Seattle weather conditions
What This Is

RECURRING TRANSPORTATION
INFRASTRUCTURE. NOT A
SERIES OF BOOKINGS.

Campus shuttle is fundamentally different from every other transportation service we provide. There is no event, no booking, no per-trip dispatch. It is a continuous operating program — the same routes, the same vehicles, often the same drivers, running on a fixed schedule every working day for years.

What facilities and HR teams need from a campus shuttle operator is operational consistency over multi-year horizons — vehicles that show up at 6:55 AM every weekday for the 7:00 AM departure, drivers who recognize regular commuters and know that the wheelchair user from Building C boards at the second stop on the morning route, dispatch that can adjust routes when your company opens a new building or closes a parking facility. Multi-year contracts with documented SLAs, annual escalator clauses indexed to Seattle-area transportation cost, and route modification provisions written into the master agreement.

Multi-year recurring contracts
2-5 year base contracts with annual escalator clauses, route modification provisions, and documented service-level commitments. Not per-trip bookings.
ADA-compliant fleet
Wheelchair-accessible vehicles included in every campus program fleet mix. ADA-trained drivers. Compliance documentation provided.
Dedicated branded vehicles
Customer-branded vehicle wraps available. Vehicles parked at customer facility, assigned consistently to your program throughout contract term.
Ridership data + app integration
Daily ridership reporting, monthly utilization analysis, integration with employee shuttle apps showing live vehicle tracking.

Where we fit in the campus shuttle market

We are a Seattle-focused operator — not a national fleet operator. For very large employer transportation programs (5,000+ daily riders, integrated transit-style operations), the national fleet companies have economies of scale that fit those programs well. Our sweet spot is mid-size programs (200-5,000 daily riders), specialized routes, multi-building connectors, corporate parking shuttles, and surge or overflow capacity for larger programs whose primary operators occasionally need backup. If you are running an RFP and need a Seattle-based operator who knows the routes and is genuinely accountable for service quality at the local level, we would like to be evaluated.

How It Works

THREE OPERATIONAL PATTERNS.
DAILY FOR YEARS.

The three service types each have a different daily operational pattern. Sample schedules below — adapted to your specific routes, hours, ridership, and campus footprint.

Daily Commute Loop
Typical Vehicles2–6 Mini Coach
Daily Hours10–12 hours
5:30 AM
Driver shift start, vehicle inspection
Drivers begin shift at staging facility. Pre-trip vehicle inspection including DOT-required checks, fluid levels, lights, safety equipment. Vehicles repositioned to first pickup location ready for 6:00 AM service start.
6:00 AM
Morning peak service begins
First pickups at residential park-and-ride locations or transit hubs. Routes typically loop through 3-8 pickup stops with peak headways of 15-20 minutes during the busiest commute window (7:00-9:00 AM). Live vehicle GPS updated in employee mobility app.
10:00 AM
Morning peak ends, midday service
Most employees on campus by 10:00 AM. Service tapers to reduced frequency through midday. Some programs include lunch loop service for off-campus meal options; others suspend service until evening peak.
4:00 PM
Evening peak service begins
Reverse pattern: pickups at corporate campus, drops at residential locations. Peak headways 15-20 minutes through 6:00 PM, then progressively reduced through 8:00 PM. Last departures coordinated with employee survey data on actual departure patterns.
8:00 PM
Service ends, vehicles return to staging
Final evening loop completes. Vehicles return to staging facility, post-trip inspection, refueling/charging, overnight parking. Driver shift ends. Next-day service begins again at 5:30 AM.
DAILY
Ridership data submitted to customer portal
Daily ridership counts by route and time period uploaded to customer portal each evening. Account manager monitors trends and flags routes for optimization review or capacity adjustment. Monthly utilization report aggregated and delivered to facilities and HR teams.
Daily commute loop typical: 3-4 Mini Coaches running 12-hour daily shifts, 1-2 routes covering 6-12 pickup stops. Monthly cost $14,000-$28,000 depending on vehicle count and hours. Multi-route programs with 4-6 routes scale to $30,000-$50,000+/month for mid-size programs.

Campus Program FAQ

QUESTIONS FROM FACILITIES
DIRECTORS AND HR OPS TEAMS.

The most common questions we receive from facilities directors, corporate real estate teams,
HR operations, and procurement. If you do not see your question, email program sales at corporate@seattleshuttle.com.
How does campus shuttle program pricing work?

Campus shuttle pricing is structured as monthly recurring revenue (MRR) under multi-year contracts, not per-trip or per-event pricing. Typical pricing ranges by program size: Small programs (1-3 Mini Coaches, 8-12 daily operating hours) typically run $8,500-$22,000/month. Mid-size programs (4-8 vehicles, multi-route service) run $25,000-$70,000/month. Large programs (10+ vehicles, multi-building campus connectors with parking + commute combined) run $75,000-$250,000+/month. Standard contract terms include 2-5 year initial commitment with 3-4% annual escalator clauses. Custom quotes provided after route analysis and ridership projection.

What types of campus shuttle programs do you operate?

Three primary service types. Employee Commute Shuttles: scheduled service connecting employee residential areas, transit hubs, or designated park-and-ride locations to corporate campus. Typical configuration: morning peak service 6-10 AM, evening peak 4-8 PM, midday/lunch loops optional. Corporate Parking Shuttles: continuous shuttle service between off-site corporate parking garages and the main building, typically operating throughout the working day at 5-15 minute headways. Multi-Building Campus Connectors: inter-building shuttle service for corporate campuses with multiple buildings, operating throughout the day connecting employees between sites for meetings and amenities. Most large programs combine two or three service types under one master contract.

Are your vehicles ADA-compliant?

Yes. Campus shuttle programs include ADA-compliant vehicle options. Mini Coach fleet includes wheelchair-accessible models with hydraulic lifts, ADA-compliant interior layout, and securement systems meeting Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. For campus programs, we typically include 1 ADA-compliant vehicle per 4-6 standard vehicles in the fleet mix. All drivers complete ADA service training including securement protocols, passenger assistance procedures, and respectful service standards. ADA compliance documentation provided for procurement and DEI/accessibility teams.

Do you provide dedicated branded vehicles for our campus program?

Yes. For multi-year campus shuttle contracts, dedicated branded vehicles are available. Configuration: vehicles wrapped in customer-specific branding (full vehicle wraps, partial side panels, or window cling depending on preference and budget), parked at the customer's facility or designated staging location during off-hours, assigned consistently to the customer's program. Vehicle wrap design coordinated with your marketing or facilities team. Wrap production cost is amortized into the monthly contract over the contract term. Wrap removal at contract end included.

What ridership data and reporting do you provide?

Standard reporting included in every campus contract: daily ridership counts by route and time, monthly utilization analysis comparing capacity to actual ridership, quarterly business review with route optimization recommendations, annual program report covering total rides, cost per ride, peak load analysis, and recommendations for the following contract year. For programs with employee badging integration, we can produce ridership data by department, location, or shift pattern (subject to your data privacy policies). Ridership data delivered via secure portal or direct integration with your HR or facilities systems.

Can you integrate with our employee shuttle mobile app?

Yes. We integrate with the major employee shuttle and corporate mobility apps. Standard integrations include live vehicle GPS tracking displayed in your employee app, route schedule synchronization, capacity and arrival time data, and incident notifications (delays, route changes, weather adjustments). If your company uses a custom-built shuttle app, we provide API access to vehicle location and capacity data. For companies without an existing app, we can recommend Seattle-area technology partners or provide a basic vehicle tracking page hosted on our infrastructure.

How do you handle route changes during the contract term?

Route modification provisions are written into every multi-year campus contract because companies routinely change campus footprints, open new buildings, close parking facilities, and adjust commute patterns. Standard provisions include: minor route adjustments (stop additions/removals within existing route footprint) handled at no charge with 30 days notice, major route restructures (new routes, eliminated routes, schedule shifts) requoted as contract amendments with revised pricing, and emergency route changes for unexpected events (parking facility closures, construction interruptions) accommodated with shortest reasonable notice. Annual contract reviews include route optimization recommendations based on ridership data.

Can you provide surge capacity when our primary shuttle operator can't cover?

Yes. Surge and overflow capacity is a real service line for us. Common scenarios: primary operator vehicle breakdowns or driver shortages affecting service reliability, special-event days when normal capacity is insufficient (company all-hands, major customer visits, parking facility maintenance), emergency weather events requiring increased shuttle frequency, and seasonal demand peaks (return-to-office initiatives, intern arrival weeks, conference overlap days). Surge service can be coordinated as standalone short-term bookings or pre-arranged as a standing overflow agreement with your primary operator.

What are your typical campus contract terms?

Multi-year campus contracts are standard. Typical terms: 2-year initial contract with renewal options (suitable for smaller programs or pilot programs), 3-year base contracts with two 1-year renewal options (most common for mid-size programs), 5-year contracts with built-in route adjustment provisions (for large programs with dedicated branded fleet). Annual escalator clauses of 3-4% based on Seattle-area transportation cost indices. Termination provisions: 90-day notice for convenience after year 1, immediate termination for material service failure. Performance SLAs (on-time performance, vehicle availability, ridership satisfaction) documented in every contract with quarterly review.
